Done and Dusted! My second Kingdom Hearts platinum trophy!

I finally got the Kingdom Hearts 3 platinum trophy! It's my 42nd trophy on the account, I deliberately added a new game before it just to get this to Platinum 42 because it's a number I have a history with. Before I played video games, I read books and one of the first book series I read was Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy by Douglas Adams, may he rest in peace. I never read the final book, which basically reset the Earth, but I loved the first two books. 42 has a special significance in that series.

Almost done with KH3

I don't own the image here with the beholder, that is from Puffin Forest's video. All credit for his wonderful artwork is his.

So anyways, I have been busy. I have finally managed to get a few things done.

  1. Got the trophies for the minigames in Arandelle and San Fransokyo. Shield Shredder was a pain in the tookkis to get since you have to avoid hitting anything and keep your x8 modifier by collecting gems constantly. But I finally got it and now I have to go through the race nine more times to get the rest of the treasures for the Orichalcum+.
  2. Got the A rank score for the super Flash Tracer course, which stinks. The only Flan I have to make very happy to get the Orichalcum+ from the Flans is that stupid melon flan in this world which requires bouncing on flans and you free fall if you bounce on too many and end up missing the flan bounce pad. :(
  3. Still hate Verum Rex, I will eventually get that 12 million score someday.
  4. Wasted all my honey on fails on the Bistro dishes. Egg-cracking suckings and I even missed a few flambes and pepper shakers. I did not fail a single chop the food minigame as Alton Brown taught me never to chop too close to your fingers. ;)
  5. Finally have to grind for levels and Synth items to get the rest of the synth recipes complete.
So I am at 77% trophy completion, higher than the other Kingdom Hearts main titles. My next mission will probably be to go to KH2 and farm for synth items to complete the synth notes so I can get that trophy and get it out of the way. Not really going to be into KH1 for a while as I dread having to repeat the Hades cup twice without breaks. Then again, the Hades Paradox Cup will suck. I want to make sure I get the high score on that first try so I don't have to do it again as 50 rounds sucks.

Birth by Sleep is coming along, will probably get EXP walker and do the same thing for Ven as I did with Terra. I am running Aqua alongside him because I don't care about the stickers right now, I just want Ven and Aqua to complete their stories so I can get the remaining episodes and get the trophy for Critical Mode completion so I can start over with everyone to get the journals 100%.

Dream Drop Distance... meh, I will get there eventually. It's not that hard.

So I am just Goofying around until the KH3 DLC drops and I find out what horrors of trophies await.

All in all, KH3 is decent but they need to make their hardcore fans happy. Even though the trophy for Master Chef and Centurion are annoying, it's not that hard.

SORA! THIS IS NOT THE TIME!!!!!!!! X(

I am planning on doing a special event on another blog where we try to go past 100% trophy completion in Kingdom Hearts III. If it gets a lot of feedback, I might expand it to other games in the series as we wait impatiently for Kingdom Hearts 4. :)

I got inspired by Walt the Dog's Let's Play Neptunia thread on PSNP. If you really want to go above and beyond the easy trophy list, then check the blog out.

Please... LET IT GO

Yes, it's the Damn Meme Song. Go ahead and drag me through the streets naked with wild horses. :p
So I have finally gotten more progress in Kingdom Hearts 3, and actually decided to go through the cutscenes in Arandelle, the Frozen world. I was very worried about THIS MOVIE getting into Kingdom Hearts, I was with the Frozen haters and when they said it was confirmed, I was going to get upset especially when they said the whole "Let It Go" number would be included and cringed, waiting for the inevitable...

But, as I had expected, it was not bad to me at all. I actually liked Elsa singing as she created her ice palace. I was giving bad hate to this song because it was a meme that created viral videos in Youtube, but this movie is not bad. I think Kingdom Hearts really dilutes the eventual poison of Disney.

Also, the fact that my favorite Organization XIII member, Larxene, was taunting Sora during this and had actually LOCKED Sora et al in a MAZE OF ICE she created with electromagnetism, I think that it really made the story cooler, no pun intended. My only gripe: Hans is made mute. I know that they probably weren't able to acquire the voice actor for this villain but Mother Gothel got her lines before she got transformed, why not Hans? :(

Now to watch the Monsters Inc. cutscenes.

I am now 2/3 of the way to the end. I just have to complete the last two worlds, Caribbean and San Fransokyo. Having not seen either the Pirates of the Caribbean movies or Big Hero 6, I am hoping not to get too delusional when I watch the Big Hero 6 stuff. I should go there now. :)

Wow, so amazing!

My Kingdom Hearts 3 journey is going well, and I am so amazed at this game. While the canon path is Toy Box => Corona, I decided to tackle Corona first to get its world Keyblade(I was watching a speedrun of the game) and I was so awed.

I have never watched Tangled, and yet this game retells the story with its own OP inserted in. Marluxia's return was not surprising but I was impressed that he managed to escape Castle Oblivion. To be honest, I got spoiled to the whole story of the game by a video and it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, but it was nice to get to see Sora, Donald and Goofy interact with Flynn Rider and Rapunzel.

The folktale of Rapunzel is one of the stories that intrigued me the most. Disney has the Midas Touch to all tales it grabs under its wings, and this was no different. The versions of Rapunzel's tale I've seen are... not as family-friendly as Disney's bawlderization of this, but they all involved a girl with hair so long it was the only way to get into the tower and an evil stepmother who locked her up to keep her from getting hit on by men for her beauty.

To be honest, the scene where Rapunzel gets a haircut(no spoilers) might have well been ripped from the movie but watching Sora and his two goofballs charge to the tower, fighting off Nobodies and Heartless like no business was awesome. The bosses here were fun too but I won't spoil them.

Getting the only missable item in the game, the Forest Clasp, even though it's outdated by the endgame, is still really nice. I like how Sora and Rapunzel interact and it was worth 13 years of real time to make sure we get stuff like this. Stuff like this makes me not feel so bad that the only returning worlds were Olympus(which has been in KH since Day 1) and the Pirates of the Caribbean property, which really pops this time thanks to the Unreal Engine, the KH2 Port Royal world really didn't look very clean in the graphical engine.

What's even cooler is that the worlds are not ghost towns, you actually walk by people living in the world. Yes, there are monsters in each world but the game cordons them to areas where people are not wandering around. You only see other humans in the castle town of Corona and it was fun having Sora dance at the festival.

Now on to the stuff I enjoyed outside of this world:
  • The Lucky Emblem hunt is awesome. It's like a scavenger hunt but it doesn't need to be done if you don't want to do it. But I am a grubby hoarder so I hunt for every chest and lucky emblem. I am pissed off that I missed a chest in Corona. XD
  • Classic Kingdom was introduced in the mobile Union X game but thankfully you do not have to score high to get the trophies involving these LCD game knock-offs.
  • The Bistro mini-games are not too punishing though I think the egg-cracking game is the hardest to do correctly, I kept messing up the first few times as you must tilt the sticks VERY gently to avoid smashing the egg. Still, collecting ingredients around the worlds and using them to make food buffs really makes things nifty. I had my doubts about Remy (which I wish they had named him but I understand that nobody knows Remy's name but the rat himself) but it was funny to see him grab Sora's hair and body-snatch him. ;)
  • Now that Sora has Superjump it's nice to see him Flowmotioning like he did in Dream Drop Distance although he can't do the jumps too much. Nice way to skip boring routes.
  • Wall parkour is pretty awesome!
I am spacing out this game because I don't want to delve too deep into it. Am in the Toy Story world. Have seen a bit of the first movie but I like how Young Xehanort split the world in two and that's why we don't see many Toy Story characters. Love the Final Fantasy game commercial with the shonen characters, and if the epilogue is real, Riku is going to meet Yozora. ^_^

So yeah, I am playing KH3 now...

[picture coming soon]

So yeah, finally popped in the Kingdom Hearts 3 disc and started playing. Played through Olympus and nearly died to the stupid gang of minotaur Heartless at the beginning of the Realm of the Gods. Then I keep failing at airstepping and nearly died at the Storm Titan because I had to airstep.X(

Then I got to Twilight Town and got thrown into a fight with Snipers. F'king Snipers. Then a DEMON TIDE which kept juggling Sora into the air. I hope Aerial Recovery is still a thing because this is going to really old real quick if Sora keeps getting tossed into the sky by enemies. :(

The gummi ship and rail grinding is ripped from Ratchet and Clank A Crack in  Time, but I didin't mind, except the gummi ship takes a while to center the reticle. I love the Gummi Heartless battles.

Just finished the Demon Tide and now have access to Twilight Town but I'll hold off the game until later because I have plans to work on Dream Drop Distance's platinum from a guide.

All in all, I think the game is really enjoyable and lovely though having to deal with all of these situation command options is annoying and Flowmotion sucks in this game.
